Program Summary
The Siene Rat Roseau Watershed District Water Retention Program offers funding, design, and construction support for water storage and retention projects. Conservation Goals
The Siene Rat Roseau Watershed Water Retention program focuses on water management, habitat preservation, ecosystem resilience, groundwater recharge, and water quality protection. Its aim is to promote sustainable water management practices.
Eligible Lands
Eligible landscapes include croplands, rangelands, or pasturelands in the Seine Rat Roseau Watershed District.

The program is currently ongoing, with total funding yet to be determined.
Landowners must not alter, change, remove, or modify the project without written consent from the Watershed District.
Landowners are required to notify the Watershed District in the event of a change in ownership or rental status.

Commitment
The landowner commits to 5 years, subject to the agreement's terms and conditions.
Incentive
The Siene Rat Roseau Watershed District offers the following incentives:
Cost-sharing where the landowner contributes 20% of the total project cost, and the Watershed Region covers 80% when the project provides direct benefits to the landowner.
For projects with multiple downstream benefits, the Watershed Region may fund up to 100% of the total project costs.
