Program Summary
Sustainable Agriculture Manitoba (SAM) provides funding to farmers and land managers to implement cost-shared beneficial management practices (BMPs) that increase the environmental and economic sustainability of agriculture operations in Manitoba. Priority areas include water quality and biodiversity.

Conservation Goals
This program includes elements that support establishment of perennial cover, and promote improved water management.
Eligible Lands
Eligible landscapes include croplands, rangelands, or pasturelands in Manitoba.
Additional Details
This program has regular intake cycles, so interested landowners need to remain aware of current open and closing dates.
Commitment
Participants in the Sustainable Agriculture Program commit to one or more of the following:
Establishing cropland management practices that optimize operations and improve productivity.
Establishing practices that improve livestock performance and manure management.
Maintaining the supply, efficient use, quality and management of water.
Incentive
The Sustainable Management program offers participants the following incentives:
Perennial Cover for Sensitive Lands
50% of cost (up to $10,000)
Drainage Water Management
30% of cost (up to $105,000)
