Program Summary

The Manitoba Habitat Conservancy Wetland Restoration program is offered in association with a Conservation Agreement. Previously drained wetlands are restored to create and enhance wildlife habitat, to improve biodiversity, water storage, and carbon sequestration and to enhance waterfowl breeding habitat. Restoration projects typically consist of the construction of an earthen plug in an existing drain which is designed to hold water back and restore the wetland to its previous size & function.
